Getting Therapists Paid

First post under the mantle of my new business: Getting Therapists Paid. I love the new name. Because it’s really what this venture is about for me. (and my wife told me it was catchy).

I want therapists to make more money. Therapists go into mental health for the right reasons. I know this because I’ve been working in the mental health field for well over a decade and because my wife will soon be a therapist as well.

Holding the pain of others and helping clients actually come out the other side is a calling for many therapists.

Yet, as is well known in the field, therapists just don’t make enough.

I mean, 'enough' is a relative term of course. Enough for what?
Enough to actually pay their bills is a good starting point.

But as the husband to a soon-to-be therapist I would also add, 'enough' to have health insurance, to be able to take time off if sick or if our child is sick, to be able to go on a vacation every now and then, and to actually set aside some savings.

I don’t believe in the idea of being paid, “What you are worth.”
How could any of us be paid what we are worth? It’s an impossible non-descriptor.

AND the value that therapists give to their clients and to our society is off the charts. Yet, insurance rates don’t reflect this.

I cannot change this. But I can help therapists submit claims, prevent clawbacks, provide clients superbills and charge them a fair rate that is not a further financial burden. So that therapists can more than survive, but also rejuvenate and live their life with security and peace. This is what I want for my family as well. This is why Getting Therapists Paid exists.
